Read the monitoring dashboard
The Monitoring Dashboard is the one screen that answers "how is this project doing?" It pulls together activities, indicators, risks, surveys and complaints for one project at a time, so you can see in a minute what needs attention.
Why it matters
Without a dashboard, the state of a project lives in five lists and somebody's head. The dashboard puts it in one place, so a weekly team meeting or a manager's check-in starts from the same picture. Use it to decide where to look next, then open the list behind each card for the detail.
Choose the project
The dashboard opens on an active project. Use the project list at the top to switch. Only active projects are offered; a closed project's figures stay in its own screens and reports.
The five cards
| Card | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Activities Done | Activities marked done, out of all the project's activities, with the completion percentage |
| Delayed | Activities whose status is Delayed |
| On Track | Indicator target periods that are On track or already Achieved, out of all target periods |
| Digital Surveys | Surveys linked to this project |
| Open Complaints | Complaints and feedback still Open or In review |
Note On Track counts targets that are on track and those already achieved together. To see what needs attention, look for At risk and Off track in the indicator table below.
Indicator progress
The table lists every indicator in the project with its target, actual value, a progress bar and its status. Target, actual and status come from the indicator's latest target period; the progress bar shows the indicator's overall achievement.
An indicator that shows no progress usually has no values recorded yet, or no target periods. See Indicators and monitoring plans and Record indicator values.
Risks and complaints
- Active Risks shows up to five risks that are not yet resolved or mitigated, the most likely first. Use Add Risk Entry to record a new one. See The risk register.
- Complaints & Feedback shows the latest open complaints. Use Record Complaint Entry to add one. See Complaints and feedback.
A weekly routine
- Open the dashboard and pick the project.
- Check Delayed: is each delay known and explained?
- Scan the indicator table for At risk and Off track, and ask what is behind each one.
- Read the active risks: has any of them started to happen?
- Make sure every open complaint has someone working on it.
